It was Labor Day Weekend and Julio and I ventured to "The Crack".  It was a great day?  Packed a lunch because it was going to be a long day and there was an opportunity for some swimming.
If you check the reviews of this trail know that it is HOT. There is limited shade for most of the hike.  The reviews say that this trail is 3.5 miles out and back but it seemed much longer.  My Nike Fuel band overheated so I do not know exactly. But the overall time to hike was more than normal for me.

The trail changes from boring and flat to what you see that is more typical see in Sedona.

This is the prize once you get to the crack.  The water was so cold.  Too cold for Julio.  There were people jumping off the top of the rocks.  It was awesome.  We stayed for a couple hours, ate lunch and people watched.  Of course Julio took a ton of pictures and a Siesta in the shade.  It was the best day and I am really proud of Julio's ability to hike. Now I know he can do it!!
We headed into the town of Sedona for the afternoon.  Hit the ice cream store and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.  Hike #1 - Check it off!!
