Tina and I were planning on hitting the streets tonight for a walk but since I had to pick up Megan at softball practice we decided to walk from the High School up to Buffalo Ridge Summit.
The baseball kids would run the trail at conditioning practice so I figure we would try it.
This location is a park. There is a softball field, basketball courts and a playground. The mountain is known for having a Disk golf course. (aka frisbee golf)
Below is a link if you want more information. Check it out.

So this hike was an unknown. There is no set trail. It is more bushwhacking. We saw someone running and we headed up torwards the person. We ended up at the top of a Quarry. It was pretty cool to see it. I had to research it. They mine decomposed granite. I was hoping it was gold. ha ha. Trucks can come up the east side of the mountain to get the product.
The trail is loose sand and it also is rocky. It really is not the best place to hike. We made it up as far as we could without rock climbing. We rounded the mountain and passed many Frisbee Guys. Surprised at how many people. We took a circumference trail to the north west and then headed up again as far as we could.
It was a beautiful late afternoon with a nice sunset. Spring is coming because we were out there after 6:00 with plenty of time. We could clearly see our favorite hiking mountain in the distance - LookOut Mountain.
In the end we went almost 3 miles in 45 minutes. Nice quick hike for us AND it was NEW!!
I don't recommend traveling here for a hike but if you are waiting for your kid to get out of school or practice then take a quick walk around the area. #20 DONE!!

We turned back around and headed back to the High School where we started. Tina was trying to be a Buffalo but know that I think of it does a Buffalo have antlers? I think she looks like a Moose.
